Did You Know?

In the 17th century, Sevilla was once home to a flourishing school of painters including renowned artists such as Diego Velasquez, Bartolome Murillo and Francisco Pacheo.

Sevilla's cathedral, the third largest in all of Europe, holds the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

Every Spring Sevilla comes to a standstill and throws a week-long party called Fería. During Fería tents are set up virtually making a tent-city every year. Everyone socializes and dances to flamenco music until the sun comes up only to return later that night for more.
Program Overview
It is our mission to provide students with the opportunity to experience all that Sevilla has to offer and to discover the heart and soul of our city during their time spent studying here. We are excited to share with you the enchantment of Sevilla, a captivating city tucked away in the south-western region of Andalucía. There are many beautiful and well-known cities located in central and eastern Spain, such as Madrid and Barcelona, but if you are looking for a truly authentic and culturally enriching experience, the true magic can be found on the streets of Sevilla. Sevilla is described in songs as having un color especial,  a metaphor referring to the colorfulness of the city which is reflected in the buildings, landscapes, and most importantly in the Sevillanos and their enticing way of life.

Sevilla is a truly exciting place to study abroad. Students who come here are immediately immersed in the artistic, cultural, and financial capital of Southern Spain. Sevilla, situated on the Guadalquivir River, is an energizing and vibrant city filled with unique traditions, cobblestone streets, flamenco, palm trees, beautiful parks, stunning bridges, famous landmarks, and an attitude filled with a joy for life.  With over 2,000 years of rich history, the Sevillano streets are filled with magic!

Sevilla is home to one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world as well as a phenomenal fútbol team, Sevilla FC. Sevilla is known for its long, sunny days and many beautiful beaches are just a short bus-ride away. Sevilla truly has something to offer for each and every traveler. Until you have visited Sevilla you have not fully experienced Spain. Spend your days sight-seeing along the Guadalquivir River, climbing atop the Cathedral's Giralda for a breathtaking view of the entire city, or shopping in one of the many fashionable clothing boutiques. Your night life will be just as thrilling, venturing from bar to bar for authentic Spanish tapas before experiencing some of the most exciting bars and discotecas Europe has to offer. It won't be long before your heart belongs to Sevilla.

Another reason Sevilla stands out among Spanish cities is its prime location. We are only about an hour away from the mesmerizing beaches of Cádiz and Huelva. We are also just as close to the border of Portugal, which makes for quick and easy travel for those who wish to go beyond the boundaries of Spain. Not to mention, we are only 3 hours from the fascinating country of Morocco and the monkey-business taking place at the peak of Gibraltar (don't understand? try googling Gibraltar Macaques). While Madrid and Barcelona may be popular destinations because of their commercial, cosmopolitan atmosphere, Sevilla offers travelers its supreme location and a more intimate Spanish experience, one that will leave you counting down the days until you are once again reunited with the true corazón of Spain.
